The Department of Education and Youth has launched an important survey, inviting parents, guardians, staff, and board members to express their views on the future of our primary schools. This is a unique opportunity for every member of our school communities to “have your say” and help shape the direction of education for the next generation.
The Constitution of Ireland recognises parents as the primary educators of their children, granting them the right to choose the education that best reflects their values.
We welcome diversity and encourage everyone to participate in the survey. The future of your school should reflect the wishes of your whole community, and your input will help ensure that choice and opportunity remain at the heart of our education system.
All parents, principals, staff, and board members are encouraged to take a few moments to complete the “Have Your Say” survey before the closing date of 16 December 2025.
The survey can be accessed at www.gov.ie/primaryschoolsurvey
